Healthier Hamburgers for Your 4th of July!

Dr. Rob’s Healthy Hamburgers for Your Holiday Celebrations

Dr. Rob’s Buffalo Burgers on Whole Wheat Bun
1lb buffalo meat
1 red pepper
1 habanero pepper
1/2 red onion
1 clove of garlic
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp sweet paprika
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp of olive oil
caramelize the garlic, red onion, habanero pepper, red pepper in the 2 tablespoons of olive oil and let cool, then knead into the buffalo meat.  Use a 1/2 cup to measure the meat to make the ideal size burger or use a 1/3 cup to make a “slider” size.  grill to perfection!
Dr. Rob’s Turkey Burgers in a Whole Wheat Mediterranean Pita
1lb turkey
1/2 cup of ricotta cheese
1 red pepper
1 jalapeno pepper
1/2 red onion
1 clove of garlic
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper flake
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp of olive oil
caramelize the garlic, red onion, jalapeno pepper, red pepper in the 2 tablespoons of olive oil and let cool, then knead into the turkey meat.  Use a 1/2 cup to measure the meat to make the ideal size burger or use a 1/3 cup to make a “slider” size.  grill to perfection!
Dr. Rob’s Veggie Burger on Ciabatta Bread
1 can of black beans
1 can of navy beans
1 can of garbanzo beans
1 egg
1/2 cup of rolled oats
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp sweet paprika
1/2 tsp black pepper
place all these items in a large bowl
1 red pepper
1 jalapeno pepper
1/2 red onion
1 clove of garlic
caramelize the garlic, red onion, jalapeno pepper, red pepper in the 2 tablespoons of olive oil and let cool, then knead into the bean mix.  Use a 1/2 cup to measure the veggie burger mix to make the ideal size burger or use a 1/3 cup to make a “slider” size.  Place in refrigerator for one hour.  Grill to perfection in olive oil.
